What to do About Africa

Not much is typically said about what goes on in Africa. Civil unrest in Kenya has displaced thousands and killed hundreds only to get pictorial spread in Newsweek. The world seems to have forgotten about Zimbabwe a country still demoralized by a virtually non existent economy. There are hundreds of thousands of child soldiers fighting civil wars they have yet to understand, and there are mothers who can't afford a mosquito net to protect their babies from malaria.

I know this doesn't have much to do with the environment, but there are huge issues that have to be dealt with I think before we can even begin to talk the environment. The awareness has to be there for anything to be done and to get done. The last time the United States turned a blind eye was to Rwanda where thousands were murdered and we knew it, but did nothing - not even blink.

These people do not have many outsiders willing to help them fight the fight.
